Last Saturday’s incident with the beating of the 50-year-old and the video recorded on her mobile phone by the 47-year-old
The Greek police are trying to unravel the tangle of the crime case in Moschato. The 47-year-old woman who opened the door of the apartment to the police was taken to the Athens Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday afternoon and charged with intentional homicide. The woman asked for and was given a deadline to apologize at 12 noon on Thursday.
According to the information collected by the police so far, the 50-year-old man appears to have been collecting money from various people which he invested in cryptocurrencies, oil products and/or other controversial investments.
The authorities have established that the 47-year-old woman and at least two other people from her relatives were among the people who entrusted him with money, with the total amount exceeding 150,000 euros.
At some point, the 47-year-old began to ask for part of the money she had given for investment, with the 50-year-old declaring his inability to return it to her, which caused the woman’s angry reaction.
In fact, the police confirmed that last Saturday there was an incident of violence at the 50-year-old’s office in Kallithea.
The 47-year-old along with people who had entrusted money to the 50-year-old, went to his office and after arguing, beat him with the police intervening, however, what impressed the authorities is that none of those involved filed a lawsuit. Neither the battered 50-year-old nor the defrauded investors.
Regarding the last episode, the authorities have in their hands a video from the 47-year-old’s mobile phone, in which the woman has recorded her conversation with the 50-year-old, initially in a calm atmosphere and then with great tension, however the scene has not been recorded in which the 50-year-old approaches the improvised gallows he had created with his belt and hanged himself with the 47-year-old, confessing that he kicked the chair on her nerves, resulting in the 50-year-old’s tragic death.
The Police are also looking to find the whereabouts of the money allegedly received by the 50-year-old, who, according to the 47-year-old, claimed that his wife took it and disappeared.
Authorities have not confirmed the above claim, nor that the 50-year-old’s foreign wife had withdrawn the money from their joint bank account.
This will be seen in the coming days, when and if permission is given to open bank accounts.
