The first in-home assessments of the first phase of the pilot program “Personal Assistant for people with disabilities” of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs are starting.

In particular, those selected for the first evaluations will receive a relevant email today, so that they can choose their appointment online on the https://prosopikosvoithos.gov.gr/ platform.

The available dates for the first evaluations are from January 24th to February 6th, and new evaluation cycles will follow immediately after their completion.

For those who do not choose an appointment themselves, the system will automatically choose an appointment for them and they will receive a relevant notification.

“In order to better conduct the process, special interdisciplinary committees have been set up, which consist of: a) a social worker, b) a psychologist, c) a physiotherapist and d) an occupational therapist, and all participants have received special training and detailed instructions” states the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in a statement.

It is recalled that the first phase of the pilot program, which is implemented for the first time in our country, begins immediately for the first 1,000 people with disabilities in Attica and will soon be extended to additional regions of the country, while, in 2024, it will be implemented nationwide.

The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Domna Michailidou, stated: “Finally, we are one step closer to the independent living of our fellow citizens with disabilities. A just and longstanding request of theirs is being met. Staying true to our commitments, we are starting the implementation of the program in our country for the first time and, soon, our first 1,000 fellow citizens will have their own Personal Assistant. Applications have been successfully completed and we are ready to start the first home assessments, making the process easier and supporting those most in need. As a State, we choose the rights-based model of disability recruitment and ensure the equal participation of every citizen in society and the labor market. We leave no one behind».
