The Minister of Labor reiterated that whenever there is fiscal space a dividend will be paid to society
“At the end of January, one out of two pensioners will find that they will receive an additional pension on an annual basis,” Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakis told SKAI 100.3 and Aris Portosalte today.
He also mentioned that 83% of those with a large difference will also see an increase, either through the extraordinary allowance of 250 euros, or through the abolition of the solidarity levy.
Mr. Hatzidakis also emphasized that the new pensions are now issued within two months, while he reiterated that whenever there is fiscal space, a dividend will be given to society.
In addition, he pointed out that based on data from the ERGANI system, jobs have increased by 263,000 since 2019, while average monthly earnings have increased by 12.4%, i.e. above inflation.
Finally, he reiterated that a new increase in the minimum wage is imminent from March, which will take effect from April 1.
