Rhodes: The “thriller” continues with the missing mother – Silver alert issued

by

The authorities in Rhodes are on the “foot” to locate the woman. Police are looking into new evidence relating to the day she disappeared

The search for the 44-year-old mother, who has been missing since Monday morning, remains fruitless.

According to “Demokratiki” information, a shepherd testified that last Monday – the day on which her tracks were lost – he saw the woman at approximately 3:30 PM in the “Livadia” area, between Archangelos and Malonas. As the witness claimed, the 44-year-old woman asked him for information on the route she must follow to reach the monastery of Agios Nektarios. Afterwards, the 44-year-old woman seems to have driven her car to another monastery located in the “Nioglia” area, where her car was found, but without any trace of her.

The 44-year-old is the mother of a minor girl and according to testimonies from people around her, she is deeply religious, while in the past she used to go to monasteries unannounced.

She is 1.62 meters tall, normal build, long black hair and on the day of her disappearance she was probably wearing a black long skirt, black blouse, white cardigan and blue jacket, sports shoes with white socks.

She left her house on D. Anastasiadis street with the no. POR 9414 car owned by the Toyota Yaris brand, gray in color, heading to the 1st Primary School of Rhodes in Asgourou, where she left her child and has been missing ever since.

She brought her mobile phone and a Eurobank debit card with her.

From the EL.AS investigations so far. and specifically from an oral information made in the context of the preliminary investigation which will be included in the course of an affidavit, it was allegedly claimed that the 44-year-old visited at 1:30 p.m. on Monday a monastery that has not been recognized by the Holy Metropolis of Rhodes of Agios Paisios in Archangelos.

The 44-year-old reportedly left the specific area at 2:30 p.m. alone with her car in an unknown direction.

In relation to this, cameras around the area, shops in Archangelos and in Malona have been examined since yesterday in order to confirm the testimonies and to record the course of her car, while the check so far shows that the last trace of her phone before it was deactivated was given a short time later to Archangel.

On Tuesday morning, her car was found by a resident of Malona on a rural road in the “Nioglia” area that leads to the monastery of Agios Nektarios.

The resident of Malona, who first spotted the vehicle and photographed it, did not know who it belonged to and thought it was an accident as the vehicle was locked and there were no traces of blood anywhere around or inside it.

When the disappearance of the 44-year-old woman was made public on Wednesday afternoon and the number of the vehicle, she then informed the authorities who went to the scene and began a thorough search by volunteers and rescuers to locate her.

What makes the authorities questionable is the fact that the vehicle is said to have been pushed into the stream and overturned with no signs of either an accident or a crime at that particular spot.

In fact, yesterday a crew of the Marking Department collected fingerprints and DNA from the vehicle, which are being examined.

Yesterday searches were carried out in all the monasteries in the area, while a relative informed the authorities that a woman he knows informed him that he had seen the 44-year-old in a shop in Analipsi on Tuesday afternoon. This information that was checked yesterday was not confirmed.
