The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, with its large program (amounting to 1,100,000 euros) ANA-PNOI that was announced immediately after the catastrophic fires of last August, gives breaths of life, actively supporting the fire victims of Northern Evia and Ancient Olympia. An important part of the support concerns the educational community of all levels in these areas.
To date, a total of 33 schools and 1,650 students have been supported by ANA-PNOI, which stands by teachers and students, contributing in every way to the upgrading and smooth operation of the schools.
It is a long journey of solidarity, with successive meetings in order to assess and meet the needs related to the lack of teaching aids, technological equipment, technical infrastructure and everything else that can help the daily lives of teachers and students.
12 schools with 516 students in Ancient Olympia (Lalas, Pelopio, Platanos, Helidoni and Vasilaki) and 21 schools with 1,134 students in Northern Evia (Istiaia, Limni, Rovies, Millet, Agdines, Kerasia, Kryoneritis, Greek, Vasilika, Mantoudi), benefited from the donation of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation.
The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation responded positively to almost all the requests of the schools of both levels of the above areas. To date, more than 200 computers (fixed and portable) with their peripheral systems, a large number of printers, copiers, air conditioners, sports equipment, desks and chairs and consumables have been delivered. Also, the IT laboratories of EPAL Istiaia and Mantoudi were fully equipped.
The above equipment, worth over 150,000 euros, was delivered by groups of collaborators of the Foundation, who visited the schools and met with students, principals and teachers’ associations. Also in view of the Christmas celebration, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation made sure that each child, from kindergarten to high school, receives his own personal gift.
The equipment of the other laboratories of EPAL will follow immediately. This effort, of course, did not come to an end. The ANA-PNOI program of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, which to date has offered more than 340,000 euros to the fire-affected areas, will continue to listen to the anxieties and cover the shortcomings of other schools in these areas and will intervene, exhausting its potential.
From Ancient Olympia that is still trying to close its wounds from the fires to the mountain villages of Northern Evia where the flames created fear and insecurity in young and old, the ANA-PNOI of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation – responding to multiple requests and will continue to assist and support efforts to rebuild, re-create and rehabilitate fire-affected areas.
I breathe means I live and the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation maintains life ties with the large educational community for years now, through its programs.
