In the surgery clinic of the Xanthi Hospital, an 84-year-old man is being treated with multiple injuries on his face, who was the victim of a robbery and a savage beating by robbers who broke into his house in the early hours of the morning at the 1st km of Xanthi – Porto Lagos.
The armed robbery took place in the early hours of Tuesday (24/01) and has caused intense disturbance and fear to the residents of the area.
The large group of robbers, armed with a gun, entered the house of an elderly couple and brutally beat the 84-year-old man, they managed to get away with more than 40,000 euros and various pieces of gold.
The perpetrators then fled in an unknown direction, while the 84-year-old was taken to the hospital.
The Police were informed of the incident and are conducting a preliminary investigation to identify the unscrupulous robbers.
Just a few days ago, there was another armed robbery at a house in Feloni, with the perpetrators operating in the same way, while the Police are investigating all the scenarios and it is possible that the two robberies are connected.
