The cycle of examining witnesses opened the day before yesterday (Tuesday), with the statements of the 19-year-old’s parents, who spoke about the short life of their deceased son, looking for an answer to “why” Alkis fell victim to killers. More characteristic moments of their testimony were when Alki’s father bent over while repeating his son’s last words (don’t hit me again), while his mother, in a testimony that caused emotion in the packed courtroom, turned to the 12 accused shouting “I am Alki’s mother. Look at me. Raise your head.”
