In the morning hours of Thursday 26/01, the intense wave of bad weather is in progress, with the highest rainfall levels until 10:45 in the morning having been recorded in Prefecture of Laconia. Storms occur in the prefecture of Attica and in the city of Athens, and in some places hail is observed.

The National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr, using satellite data and the extensive network of weather stations it has developed, created the “METEONOW” service. Using data from the Meteosat – 11 meteorological satellite and specialized software, the areas where there is a possibility of rain or snow are visualized in almost real time. On the same maps, the locations of all the active meteorological stations of the network as well as those recording rainfall or snowfall are also marked.
