In a coordinated police operation that took place in the early hours of yesterday, Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in the area of ​​Neokistoni Aspropyrgos, with the assistance of police officers of the North-Eastern Attica Security Sub-Directorate, O.P.K.E. team. as well as policemen of the Directorate of Police Operations of Attica, three (3) members of the organization were arrested, including the leader.

Against them, as well as against two more people, who are wanted, a case file was filed for criminal organization, distinguished cases of theft, committed and attempted by people who have joined together for this purpose, by complicity and by continuation, as well as robbery .

Since when and how did they act

As emerged from the multi-month and methodical investigation, the members of the organization, at least since November 2021, had set up a criminal organization with the purpose of committing distinguished thefts from homes.

In more detail, acting methodically and having as their base the area of ​​the Newly Built Aspropyrgos, they committed thefts from houses in areas of the mountainous territorial units of Oropos, showing at the same time a particular preference for the removal of hunting weapons.

During their operation, they used privately owned vehicles as “operational vehicles”, followed fixed routes of approach and departure, while the way of breaching the houses varied according to the particularities and vulnerable points of entry.

So far -30 thefts and attempted thefts from houses, theft from a vehicle as well as robberies have been solved in the wider area of ​​Oropos and specifically in Avlona, ​​Malakasa, Sykaminos and Markopoulos, with the illegal financial benefit obtained from them amounting to 100,000 euros approximately.

What did the investigations find?

In searches carried out at the homes of the arrested, the following were found and confiscated:

• vehicle (business),
• shotgun,
• number of watches and valuables,
• number of mobile phones, tablets and SIM cards,
• a number of electronic devices (televisions, speakers, game consoles, etc.),
• multitude of power tools and
• 1,370 euros.

The arrested were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office while the investigations, to fully ascertain the scope of their illegal activity, continue.
