Six arrests, four suspensions of shop operations and 369 fines for not using a mask were confirmed by ELAS in 55,005 inspections carried out throughout Greece for compliance with the measures.
The results of tests for measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus
The intensive controls throughout the country by the Greek Police Services for the implementation of the measures to prevent and limit the spread of the coronavirus continued yesterday after Christmas.
Yesterday, Saturday, December 25, 55,005 inspections were carried out throughout the country, of which 18,118 at the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.
A total of 422 violations were confirmed and 6 arrests were made and 4 business suspensions were imposed. It is clarified that in two cases of recurrence of night shops in the administrative unit of Attica, a document was drawn up by the Greek Police to the Municipality of Athens for the revocation of the operating license. At the same time, fines were imposed for violating the anti-smoking law.
The Commander of the Hellenic Lieutenant General Michael Karamalakis is in an open line with the Minister of Civil Protection Takis Theodorikakos, constantly informing him about the progress of the inspections.
Detailed tests and results:
· 369 violations for not using a mask, etc. related infringements and 365 fines of 300 euros and 4 of 150 euros were imposed, as follows:
o 99 in Attica
o 86 in Thessaloniki,
o 39 in the North Aegean,
o 33 in Epirus,
o 22 in Crete,
o 18 in Central Greece,
o 15 in the Peloponnese,
o 13 in Western Greece,
o 12 in the South Aegean,
o 10 in Thessaly,
o 9 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,
o 7 in Central Macedonia,
o 5 in Western Macedonia and
o 1 in the Ionian Islands.
Since the implementation of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 79,843 similar violations have been confirmed and 76,435 administrative fines of 300 euros and 3,408 of 150 euros have been imposed.
· 6 violations for restriction of movement with the imposition of a fine of 300 euros in the North Aegean.
Since the entry into force of the measure (November 7, 2020), a total of 196,452 similar violations have been confirmed.
· 47 violations and 6 arrests for rules of operation of shops, private companies, etc. violations of the relevant legislation (prohibition of operation, non-use of mask, percentage of square meter per person, etc.).
In the above cases the following sanctions were imposed for violation of suspension of operation, etc. related infringements of the relevant provisions, namely:
In Attica:
– arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to a temporary store manager, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension, for entry of customers without the necessary certificates and arrest and a fine of 3,000 euros to 2 customers for bringing fake certificates,
– arrest and a fine of 30,000 euros to a temporary store manager, with the imposition of an additional 15-day suspension, for violation of suspension,
– arrest and a fine of 30,000 euros to a temporary store manager, with the imposition of an additional 15-day suspension, for violation of suspension,
– arrest and a fine of 5,000 euros to a store owner, with the imposition of a 15-day suspension, for entry of customers without the necessary certificates and a fine of 300 euros to 3 customers,
– 2 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by store employees.
In Thessaly, 4 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by employees and customers of stores.
In Central Macedonia:
– 3 violations of 300 euros, for non-use of a mask, by shop owners and employees,
– 1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a vehicle passenger.
In the South Aegean, 2 violations for not using a mask, by bus passengers.
In Thessaloniki, 5 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by shop customers.
In the Ionian Islands, 4 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by shop customers.
In Epirus, 1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a store employee.
In Crete, 3 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by employees and a customer of stores.
In Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 3 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by an employee and shop customers. Additional 1 violation for not using a mask, in a bus waiting area.
In Central Greece, 1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a store customer. Additional 1 violation for not using a mask, on a vehicle passenger.
In the North Aegean, 3 violations of 300 euros, for non-use of a mask, by employees and a store customer.
In the Peloponnese:
– 2 violations in stores for not posting a sign of the maximum number of people allowed
– 1 violation of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by a store owner.
In Western Greece:
– 1 violation in a store for not posting a sign of the maximum number of people allowed,
– 2 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by shop customers.
In Western Macedonia, 5 violations of 300 euros, for not using a mask, by bus passengers and vehicles.
Since the implementation of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 27,753 similar violations have been confirmed and 2,807 people have been arrested.
The inspections continue with undiminished intensity for the protection of public health.
