Xanthi and Komotini are “fighting” over which of the two cities has placed a column “better” inside a balcony of an apartment building
In… battle for the patent award, between two cities in northern Greece, the existence of a lighting column inside a balcony has ended.
Specifically Xanthi and Komotini they “fight” over which of the two cities has placed a column “better” inside a balcony of an apartment building.
In the first case of Xanthi, on the 1st floor of an apartment building, there is a PPC concrete pillar. According to ERT “the pillar is one trademark for the city of Xanthi”, while every year the welcome banner is placed on it for all those who visit the city and the carnival.
However, the city of Komotini quickly counterattacked, which according to the local website maronnews.gr, also has an electric lighting pole that passes through three (!!!) balconies. It is worth noting that the column has been painted in the colors of the apartment building so that it is not a “foreign body”.
In both cases the big question was whether the apartment buildings were built on top of the electric lighting poles or the opposite. According to ERT and maronnews.gr, the columns pre-existed and the buildings were built in a second year.
All that remains now is for a third city in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace to appear that has a light pole that goes through four stories or more.
