With a particularly harsh text that he posted on social media, entitled “This is where the wretchedness comes from”, Mr. Theodorikakos announced his appeal to the Greek Justice for a recent public meeting that targets – as he points out – a member of his family.
Citizen Protection Minister Takis Theodorikakos describes Documento’s publication as an untrue and slanderous publication that exceeds any limit of immorality, stating that a senior officer of the ‘Direct Action’ reported to the Internal Affairs Service that two years ago he received strong and threatening intervention from then Head of EL.AS in order to eliminate drugs that were found in the possession of a relative of the minister and to avoid filing a case file.
With a particularly harsh text posted on social media by Mr. Theodorikakos, entitled “Here comes the misery”, he clarifies that this is about his son, who was checked by the police in November 2021 without finding anything.
“I do not allow anyone to serve their political passions towards me, by hurting my child”, the minister emphasizes and announces that “he is appealing to the Greek Justice, as a minister, as a Greek Citizen, but, above all, as a parent”.
At the same time, he attacks the officer, speaking of maximum wretchedness and dishonor on his part, noting that he made the complaint on the day he was demobilized, to the head of the Internal Affairs Service who was also demobilized, in the context of the recent crises that “ensured the cleansing of the Police ” and the specific demobilizations “were decided by the political leadership to ensure the correct, transparent and legal operation of EL.AS”.
The minister emphasizes that this is slander and obscene slander that does not touch him and emphasizes with emphasis that because this attempt to smear was systematically leaking and came to his knowledge, since January 26 he has given a written order to the Greek Police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
The entire post by Mr. Theodorikakos states:
“The recent crises in the Greek Police ensured the cleansing of the body in specific services. The unethical reactions were therefore to be expected. That is why, since yesterday, the ‘reputable’ Mr. Vaxevanis has mobilized Documento’s mudslinger with an untrue and slanderous publication about a member of my family, which exceeds any limit of immorality. They fraudulently keep quiet that the lies and slander about me came from a Police Officer the same night he was discharged. The statement, in fact, was given to the service headed by an Officer who was also demobilized that day! These are two demobilizations which were decided by the political leadership to ensure the correct, transparent and legal operation of the Greek Police. Despite his pressure to extend his term, changing the age limit provided by law.
This retired person attacks my face with lies and obscene slander, suddenly remembering an incident that happened two whole years ago! It reaches the point of maximum wretchedness and dishonor, both he and the dirty medium that reproduces it, to attack my son in the most immoral way. Obviously, this nonsense doesn’t touch me. It is clear that as the Minister of Citizen Protection I have nothing to do with the incident.
As this whole smear attempt was systematically leaked and came to my attention, since January 26th I have given a written order to the Greek Police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. Which, it should be noted, involved a simple – and only – police check on 4 young children, including my son, on November 22, 2021, without finding anything untoward! Obviously, the file of this case should be thoroughly examined by the Internal Affairs Service and its findings sent to the independent Greek Judiciary, so that the truth can shine and the real responsibilities can be attributed.
I do not allow anyone to serve their political empathies towards me by hurting my child. For all these reasons I appeal to the Greek Justice. As a minister, as a Greek Citizen, but, above all, as a parent. Exercising every legal right against the moral authors and executors of this vile scheme. But, also against the willing polluters who adopt and reproduce them, serving political and party purposes. So much misery!”
