The prime minister spoke of a tragic accident while on duty, under extremely demanding training conditions.
Shocked by the death of the co-pilot of the fighter Phantom that crashed in Andravida, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in a post on Facebook, stressing that the homeland will not forget him.
“I was shocked to learn of the crash of a fighter aircraft and the loss of the co-pilot, Lt. Gen. Marios – Michael Turoutsikas, while the search for the captain continues“, the Prime Minister said, referring to a tragic accident while on duty, under extremely demanding training conditions.
As he pointed out, the event plunges the Air Force into mourning, and reminds all of us how hard and dangerous is the battle that our pilots fight every day, to defend the airwaves of our homeland.
“My sincere condolences to the family of Flying Sgt. The Motherland will not forget him“, Mr. Mitsotakis summarized.
