He was sued by the candidate with Velopoulos, Philippos Kambouris – He was detained for a while at the Omonia police station

Author and former MP Petros Tatsopoulos was arrested in the process of self-immolation.

The author was arrested on Monday night (30/1), while he was present at an event-discussion and is being held at A.T. Omonia, after a lawsuit filed against him by the journalist and candidate for parliament with the Hellenic Solution Filippos Kambouris.

The news became known through a post on Facebook by Areti Georgili, who hosted Mr. Tatsopoulos at an event entitled “Education and Religion: Incompatible Concepts?”, at the “Free Thinking Zone” bookstore-gallery.

Earlier, Mr. Kambouris said in a post on Facebook: “A while ago I filed a complaint at the Omonia police station against Mr. Petros Tatsopoulos for insulting, defaming and slandering me. This person touched my religious conscience and freedom of belief in the most offensive way. While he himself did not respect my own health problem or my sister’s, nor the loss of my two parents within seven months, who both passed away. For this reason, I immediately request his criminal prosecution”.

In fact, when the news of the arrest became known, the journalist made a new post.

Mr. Tatsopoulos was released a short time later.
