Mônica Bergamo: Pacaembu restaurant had panic and crash at RBD box office and will sue the company

by

“It was a chaos, a panic situation.” This is how merchant Claudio Govêa, owner of Bubu Restaurante, at Pacaembu stadium, in São Paulo, defines the confusion that was the in-person sale of tickets for the RBD show, last Friday (27).

Chairs thrown at employees by people who were in line, broken glasses and plates and consumers who left without paying are some of the losses accounted for by him.

“When tickets sold out, many people in line revolted and the uproar began. An employee of mine hurt her leg”, he reports. “The restaurant is next to the ticket office and we decided to close it in a hurry. We were besieged”, he adds.

Govêa says he is unable to dialogue with Eventim, responsible for selling tickets. As a result, he states that he will notify the company extrajudicially to prevent the situation from happening again next Thursday (2nd) and Friday (3rd), when tickets for concerts by the Mexican group in São Paulo will again be sold.

Sought by the report, the company did not comment until the conclusion of this text. Producer responsible for the RBD shows in Brazil, Live Nation says it will not comment.

RBD fans say that there were irregularities in the sale of tickets and complain about the behavior of money changers. Procon-SP notified Eventim demanding explanations about the reported problems. The company has until this Tuesday (31) to respond to the agency’s questions.

Claudio Govêa says that the stress was so much on Friday (27) that he decided not to open the restaurant on Saturday (28). “I didn’t know what would happen. I wasn’t warned about increased security, about nothing,” he says. “And Saturday is the busiest day I have. I lost a day of billing that corresponds to about 10% of my monthly income”, he laments.

There was also confusion in the face-to-face sale of tickets in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, many fans reported problems completing the purchase of tickets through the website.

Phenomenon of the 2000s, RBD performs in Brazil in four shows of the “Soy Rebelde Tour”, on November 16th, 17th and 18th at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo, and on November 19th at the Nilton Santos stadium, in the river.

Tickets for the 17th and 19th are sold out. Tickets for the presentations on the 16th and 18th will have an exclusive pre-sale for Banco BRB customers on Thursday (2nd), from 10am. General sale for both dates starts the following day.

Known for being formed in the soap opera “Rebelde”, which premiered in 2004 and was broadcast in Brazil by SBT, the band continued its career even after the end of the plot and performed until 2009, becoming a phenomenon in Brazil.

The tour promotes a reunion of five of the six members on stage. Tickets for the presentations in São Paulo cost from R$ 420 (upper seat) to the premium track (R$ 850).
