Diplomatic sources on the new Erdoğan delusion: Greece is not provoking or threatening anyone

by

Tayyip Erdogan launched a new attack against Greece earlier

Greece does not provoke or threaten anyone, it defends its sovereignty and its sovereign rights deriving from International Law, International Law of the Sea and international treaties, diplomatic sources stress regarding today’s new statements by Turkish officials. “We reject in their entirety the non-existent and flimsy Turkish arguments as we have done through our letters to the Secretary General of the UN” they declare.

They also emphasize that “we have repeatedly responded to the absurdity with calmness and with legally substantiated arguments” and declare that Ankara must realize that its “rising profile” at the global and regional level is not a positive sign. “It is the “rising profile” of a country that follows and implements a revisionist policy, threatens war, challenges every rule of international law, blackmails and creates rifts in alliances it belongs to, at a particularly critical moment for world peace,” as they note.

Erdogan’s new delusion: Hostile actions from Greece on the islands – “Why the panic?” Make a Tayfun to have too”

There is no end to the anti-Greek delirium of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish president is not content with threats and attacks against Greece, but distorts reality in a characteristic way, presenting Turkey as the victim who reacts.

In an interview with the state television network TRT, the Turkish president vehemently attacked Greece and argued that it provokes and violates Turkey’s maritime space, as well as fishermen.

The recent attitude of Greece towards Turkey is against the spirit of good neighborly relations, of the Alliance (NATO), said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey will not stand idly by while Greece takes measures that threaten its security, we will respond both legally and on the ground, said the Turkish president, according to a post by Anadolu Agency on Twitter.

As the SKAI correspondent from Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, reported, the Turkish president said:

“There is no explanation for Greece’s attitude towards Turkey. This attitude as well as false propaganda is against the allied spirit. Greece is troubled by Turkey’s rising profile around the world.

The Greek side remains helpless in the answers we give it. Greece is violating our airspace, harassing our aircraft and harassing our fishermen, raising the tension. Our air force responds to these hostile actions and will continue to respond.

Greece is militarizing the nearby islands, which are close to our shores, in violation of international treaties.

They panicked when we told about Tayfun. But why are you panicking? Aren’t we going to make our preparations? We built the Tayfun and it has a range of 560 kilometers. But I asked for a range of 1000 kilometers. Why the panic? Make it yourself and have it. Why are they bothered? We will not remain handcuffed to the actions taken against the security of our country,” he said.

Attack on the opposition for Greece and F-35

Earlier, the Turkish president had launched a simultaneous attack on the opposition and Greece. The Turkish president accused the opposition of serving the plans of Turkey’s systematic enemies by returning to the F-35 program, which includes conditions against Ankara. In other words, the Turkish president is implying that it was his choice, in the interest of his country, to withdraw from the state-of-the-art aircraft program and that the return planned by the opposition is against its national interests Turkey.

Erdoğan talks about conditions that retreat from Turkey’s sovereign rights “Essentially they welcome those who are systematic enemies of Turkey” and adds “essentially they declare that they will give up efforts to protect our rights in Aegean and thus they send greetings to Greece”.

Swedish Foreign Minister: We did not sign these with Turkey

At the same time, Ankara is hardening its stance on the subject of Sweden’s NATO accession negotiations, putting forward more and more demands, while the Swedish minister revealed that the memorandum signed by Stockholm and Ankara did not include the restriction of freedom of expression .

Tobias Billström said his country is implementing the memorandum it signed with Turkey to get Ankara to give the green light for Sweden and Finland to join NATO, but that compromises on freedom of expression are not part of the memorandum.

Billstrom told the TT news agency that “religion is not part of the agreement” signed with Turkey.

The Swedish Foreign Minister emphasized that he understands the Turkish anger over the incidents, which although legal, were disrespectful. He added that it is now necessary for all sides to calm down and that talks with Turkey will continue.

The resounding response came from Washington with Senator Van Hollen warning Erdogan of sanctions if he continues the same tactic. “There is no way that the F-16s will be given to Turkey, if the ‘ok’ is not given for the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO. Turkey has not been a loyal ally for the most part and we see this in its reluctance to ratify the two Nordic countries’ NATO membership. If Erdogan persists in causing obstacles, we will need to consider the issue of sanctions.”

We do not support Sweden joining NATO unless there is an end to Islamophobia

“Turkey expresses concern over the growing anti-Islamic rhetoric, actions in Europe, especially in Nordic countries,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, according to Anadolu Agency.

“Turkey expects ‘sincere steps from Sweden in combating Islamophobia,’ Erdogan says, urging Sweden and Finland to fully comply with the commitments made in the tripartite memorandum,” it said.

Turkey rules out the possibility of giving the green light to Sweden’s accession to NATO since (this country) allows attacks against Islam’s holy book, the Koran, President Erdogan said today.

“We will not say yes to (Sweden) to join NATO as long as you allow our holy book, the Koran, to be burned, torn, and this is done with (the approval of) your security personnel,” Erdogan said. referring to the recent burning of a copy of the Koran in the capital Stockholm.

“We are closely following the developments regarding the NATO enlargement process. Our view on Finland is positive, but not on Sweden,” he said, signaling a willingness to support Finland’s NATO candidacy separately from Sweden’s.

Erdogan’s remarks came after Danish-Swedish extremist Rasmus Paludan last week burned copies of the Koran on two separate occasions, first outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm and later in front of a mosque in Denmark. Paludan also stated that he will proceed to burn the Muslim holy book every Friday until Sweden is accepted into the NATO alliance.

Tsavousoglou is also provocative: Greece violates the conditions on the islands

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu insisted on Ankara’s provocative stance on the Greek islands. “So when Greece e.g. violates the demilitarized status of the islands, this is a clear violation of the Treaty of Lausanne of 1923 as well as the Treaty of Paris of 1947. I am sending a letter to the UN that it is a clear violation of the treaties,” he said, recalling the provocative Turkish letter of October.

Turkish opposition: Erdogan’s luxury palace and residences will be given to the people

Under the hammer” the Turkish opposition wants to take out valuable assets of the presidency acquired by Tayyip Erdogan.

“We will sell Erdogan’s aircraft, the palace will be closed, it will be handed over to the people, the presidency will be transferred to the old presidential palace,” declares the Turkish opposition, which has allied itself against the Turkish president and his government partner, nationalist Bakhceli.

The Turkish opposition is even talking about 13 aircraft, one of which costs the astronomical sum of 500 million dollars (!) which was given to him by the Emir of Qatar. Firefighting aircraft and other essentials will be purchased, it is emphasized.

“The presidency will return to the old presidential palace in Cankaya district. The presidential palace and all the luxurious residences and mansions will be given over for the use of the people. We will sell the aircraft that belong to the presidency and in their place we will buy firefighting aircraft,” said the vice-president of the Democracy and Progress Party (DEVA) Ibrahim Canaktsi.

“When we win the elections, I will call the president’s associates and state officials, and say ‘I am Kemal and I am coming,'” said the chairman of Kemal Kilicdaroglu’s Republican People’s Party (CHP).
