The government spokesman said the proposal is complete, but appeared open to improvements, but not alterations.
“We are not going to fight” with the legislative regulation for the block on the participation of criminal organizations in the elections, under the guise of a political party, the government representative, Yannis Oikonomou, clarified today on SKAI 100.3.
At the same time, Mr. Economou assured that the government does not question anyone’s intentions.
He also pointed out that the proposal submitted to the Parliament yesterday is complete, it covers the spectrum of the case, however he seemed open to improvements, but not alterations.
“The mood is to ensure the widest possible consensus” said Mr. Economou.
He emphasized that it will have a great deal of weight, both symbolic and substantial, if the regulation secures wider acceptance.
“The aim is to send an important message for Democracy and the state and a message for the Judiciary that will be called upon to make the decisions” said Mr. Economou.
The amendment is expected to be voted on in the plenary session of the Parliament next Tuesday.
