About 30 horses came out of TIF stand 17 and spilled into the main streets of the city
About 30 horses of Greek breeds (as well as Spanish and Friesian) brought the air of the countryside to central streets of Thessaloniki, galloping proudly and attracting the eyes of passers-by.
The horses are housed in stand 17 of the TIF, where for the 8th year this year the well-established “Horse Salon” is being hosted as part of the 12th International Exhibition for Livestock and Poultry Zootechnia (2-5/2).
Having received the required permission from the Thessaloniki Traffic Authority, the 30 horses left TIF stand 17 and headed to the south gate, from where they exited and poured into the main streets of Thessaloniki.
With a proud gait, they galloped along Tsimiski Street, got off from the National Defense Building and, passing in front of the White Tower, moved along the beach, in the direction of the statue of Alexander the Great.
At this point they parked and left themselves to the caresses of young and old, while everyone sought to take pictures with them.
“This spectacle that we experience every day, we decided to share it with the citizens and convey to them, as far as we can and it is possible, the sense of pride that the horse exudes”, Athanasios Betas, coordinator of the action, told APE-MPE. which lasted about an hour.
The “Horse Show” is the big meeting of horse lovers and professionals from all over Greece and the wider Balkan region, in which organizations and individuals with more than 50 horses participate this year. On a landscaped track measuring 20×50 m, skill shows, chariot races and various other events will be presented throughout Zootechnia. At the same time, Equestrian Clubs from various regions of the country will participate in landscaped areas around the track.
