The amendment on supplementary pensions is submitted to the Parliament: Who will receive 100 euros per month of delay

With an amendment by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs that is submitted to the bill today “Care for the personnel of the Armed Forces, rationalization of the legislation of the Armed Forces, organization of the National Guard and other provisions” the two new interventions are specialized for supplementary pensions:

First, the granting of an advance payment for pending supplementary pensions due to old age, disability or death to insured persons who have applied before 1 July 2022 and for whom a main pension decision has been issued The advance payment is granted until 15 March 2023 – with no action required on the part of the beneficiary – and is equal to 100 euros for each month of delay in the issuance of the supplementary pension (for supplementary old-age pensions), from the period of submission of the application until January 31, 2023. The advance payment is set at 50 euros for supplementary pensions due to disability and for the surviving spouse requesting a supplementary death pension.

Secondly, the improvement of the operation of the mechanism for issuing supplementary pensions with a fast track procedure that has already been established by article 48 of Law 4921/2022.
The same amendment also includes the provision for an unconditional extension for one year (until February 29, 2024) of the insurance capacity of vulnerable social groups (long-term unemployed, uninsured elderly). Also included is the renewal of the 2022 regulation for the self-employed (with the exception of granting insurance capacity until May 31 regardless of the existence of debts to the insurance funds and renewal of insurance capacity until 29.2.2024 with the payment of the due health sector contributions for 2022)

Finally, with the same amendment -among others-:

– The leave of bereaved parents is established. This is a special 20-day leave that concerns parents who lose their children, satisfying the relevant request of social organizations.
– Provision is made for the granting of an Easter allowance to workers in enterprises operating in the fur industry and affected by the consequences of the war in Ukraine, whose employment contracts are suspended.
– The term “custody” in domestic legislation is corrected and replaced by the term “care” in the definitions related to paternity leave and parental leave.
– The process of restructuring welfare institutions is facilitated, with arrangements for overcoming relevant bureaucratic obstacles
