Hazard Statement Update: How ‘Barbara’ will move in the next few hours

In Attica, snowfall will occur even in low-altitude areas, which will be dense in places until the midday hours.

The Emergency Weather Bulletin issued on 03-02-2023/13:00 local time is updated according to the latest forecast data as follows:

Snowfalls

1) On Monday (06/02/2023) heavy snowfall will occur in the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean, Thrace (in the morning hours), Sporades, Evia, eastern Sterea as well as in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of Cyclades and Crete and from late evening in eastern Magnesia.

Especially for Attica, snowfall will occur even in low-altitude areas, which will be dense in places until the midday hours.

2) On Tuesday (07/02/2023), snowfall is expected to continue in eastern Greece from Thessaly and further south (rainy areas) as well as in the Cyclades and Crete, but with less intensity.

Frost

Strong frost will be noted in the continental areas, which in the north will be total in places (negative temperatures throughout the day).

Stormy Winds

North northeast winds of intensity 8 to 9 Beaufort will blow in the Aegean and from Tuesday (07/02/2023), they will gradually weaken.
