The men of the Xanthi Fire Department who rushed to the scene of the fire managed to get them out of the house without being conscious.

Two women aged 89 and 92 died tragically in their home when it caught fire.

The two unfortunate women did not notice the fire, because at that time they were sleeping, as a result of which, according to the first estimates, they inhaled large amounts of smoke.

The men of the Xanthi Fire Department who rushed to the scene of the fire managed to get them out of the house without being conscious.

An EKAV ambulance took them to the Xanthi General Hospital where the doctors, despite their great efforts, could not keep them alive.

The fire, which broke out under so far unclear circumstances, was noticed by a passer-by who notified the Fire Service.

Four fire engines with eight firefighters rushed to the scene of the fire.

The investigative department of P.Y. Xanthis is conducting an investigation to ascertain the exact causes of the fire that claimed the lives of the two women.
