The death toll in Syria will reach 120-130 thousand, said the director of the Geodynamic Institute
“There is no chance that the earthquakes that occur in Turkey will pass through to Greece. If it was in the northern Anatolia fault, I would say to be careful”, the director of the Geodynamic Institute, Akis Tselentis, told SKAI and the show “Kalimera” with George Autias.
“In Greece we don’t have such faults. Most of the 7 and 7.5 Richter faults are in the sea and there is a volume of sea water that absorbs the energy. The constructions in Greece have nothing to do with the miserable constructions in Turkey. Fortunately, we are saved by our good and educated engineers,” added Mr. Tselentis, and pointed out that “the tragedy we are experiencing is much greater in Syria because the world does not know that it was bombed for 10 years. There were ruins. The people there made of the ruins houses of dubious habitation. There you will see that the dead are much more. The death toll will reach 120-130 thousand because the houses were reduced to dust.”
The director of the Geodynamic Institute referred to the suitability of public buildings, stressing that “there are schools in Greece that are completely unsuitable. Unfortunately, since 1999 when I started the inspection of public buildings, the inspection has only progressed to 20%”
