An emotional post was made on Facebook by Konstantinos Nikas, one of the members of the first mission of EMAK to the earthquake in Turkey and the son of the son of general Panagiotis Nikas, also a firefighter, who in the 1995 Aegis earthquakes had shocked with the rescue of the little Andrea.

Without interruption and under extremely adverse conditions and severe cold, the titanic efforts of the Greek mission, together with other rescue missions, are progressing for the finding survivors in the ruins of buildings collapsed by the deadly earthquake in Southern Turkey, efforts that have paid off.
Among the 21 members of her mission EMAK who has been operating in Turkey for the last few hours is the pyromancer Konstantinos Nikas, originally from Kalamata, following in the heroic footsteps of his father.
