Closed the country’s five largest public museums will remain open today due to the 24-hour strike announced by the Association of Greek Archaeologists protesting the law planwhich is being put to a vote in the Parliament today.
In particular, the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, the Byzantine and Christian Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Byzantine Culture of Thessaloniki and the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion are not operating today.
At the same time the Association of Greek Archaeologists has planned gatherings for today, at 11.30 am. at the Byzantine and Christian Museum of Athens and at 12.00 at the Archaeological Museums of Thessaloniki and Heraklion.
It has also announced two more rolling strikes, on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 February, with the aim of not holding the scheduled meetings of the Central Archaeological Council.
At the same time, the Association of Greek Archaeologists announced that it will appeal to the Council of State, for the new law that it foresees regarding the change of their operating status through their transformation into Legal Entities under Public Law (NPDD).
