The trial of the doctor accused of the death of 9-year-old Dimitris Katsaounou in July 2017 did not proceed before the three-member Criminal Court of Lamia.
The continuation of the trial was scheduled for today, Tuesday, February 14, however a sudden health problem of the lawyer of the family, Nikos Dialynas, brought request to change the date.
The president of the seat set a new date on March 6, 2023 at 09:30 in the morning. In fact, in case the procedure is not completed on the above date, the trial will continue the next day (7/3/2023).
The trial had actually started two weeks ago, in a highly charged atmosphere, without missing moments of tension.
It is recalled that on 26/07/2017 the child had suffered serious brain injuries when he had fallen from his bicycle. He was transported to the Lamia hospital where he was operated on and then transferred to the Aglaia Kyriakou Children’s Hospital where he breathed his last.
Parents assign responsibilities to the doctor at the Lamia hospital who took charge and operated on the child.
