The health condition of the 9-year-old girl, who was injured yesterday Thursday in the eyebrow during recess at school in Serres, is described as stable by the treating doctors.
The young girl, who was intubated after being transferred from Serres hospital to Hippocrate in Thessaloniki, is constantly monitored by doctors and undergoes tests, so as to rule out any possible complications.
In the meantime, speaking to GRTimes, both the director of Primary Education of Serres, Ioannis Karavasilis, and the Deputy Mayor of Education of the municipality of Serres, Yiannis Despotidis, stated that the minor’s injury came after a fall in the yard, during the break, as a result of which she hit the her eyebrow.
“He fell in the yard where he was running playing at recess and hit his eyebrow. He was immediately taken to the Serres hospital, however the doctors decided that he should be transferred to Thessaloniki for more tests, as there was no neurological clinic for CT scan in Serresj. Intubation was performed according to medical protocol” pointed out the Deputy Mayor of Serres for Education.
The latter, according to the last update he received from Thessaloniki at 10 am, emphasized that the girl’s health condition does not inspire concern. “At least that’s what I know since 10am when I last spoke. That the tests he underwent did not show anything serious. Simply for preventive medical reasons, all the necessary procedures had to be followed.”
Speaking to GRTimes, the director of Serres Primary Education, Ioannis Karavasilis, spoke of a simple accident. “This is an accident like those that happen by the dozen during school breaks. At the moment, the girl is hospitalized in Hippocrates where she was taken for more detailed tests and as far as we know from the hospital, her state of health is stable.”
