For March 28 was discontinued the trial of the 34-year-old pilot Babis Anagnostopoulos, sentenced in the first instance to life imprisonment and an additional 11 years and 6 months for the heinous crime in Glyka Nera, which began today before the Mixed Court of Appeal.

The trial was pronounced, with the accused – a prisoner in the Malandrino prisons – present in the courtroom.

At the start of the trial he submitted postponement request the new defense counsel of the accused, Katerina Mavroidis, who said that she was appointed by Babis Anagnostopoulos on February 9 and that she has not yet received the digital material included in the case file. He also raised the issue of serving the summons on its principal.

The prosecutor asked to not be accepted the lawyer’s request stating that it is “bad practice to postpone first-introductory cases”. As he said “she is not entitled to an adjournment, she may well be given time to prepare. The law provides for the possibility of an interruption of even 30 days”, emphasized the Prosecutor.
