The case came to justice after investigations carried out – after the death of Giorgos Trakas – by the Anti-Money Laundering Authority by order of the head of Charalambos Vourliotis.

According to the conclusion drawn up by Mr. Vourliotis, it emerged that Maria Karra did not declare assets every year that amounted to three million euros and came either from joint bank accounts with Giorgos Trakas or from the acquisition of new real estate.
