The “household basket” will last until June 30, said the Minister of Development, Adonis Georgiadis, speaking to SKAI 100.3, noting that a relevant provision will be submitted for the extension of the measure.

Mr. Georgiadis emphasized that, as happened at Christmas, there will be an Easter basket and a godfather’s basket.

Regarding the prices of Lenten products, in view of Clean Monday, he emphasized that they are lower than last year and this can be seen from the card published by the ministry in collaboration with e-katanalotis.

Referring to the Lenten basket valid in Varvakeio, he noted that it is 20% cheaper than last year. The minister acknowledged that not all consumers can go to Varvakeio, however, he said that the prices there drive down overall market prices.

For her lagana, said that according to estimates the classic will range from 3-3.50 euros, increased by 10 cents on average compared to last year. He explained that the lagana… gourmet would cost about 4.5 euros.

Mr. Georgiadis stated that apparently the household basket is working and has pushed prices down overall. He even pointed out that in January food inflation in the Eurozone showed an increase, but in Greece it remained stable.

In response to a question about date of the electionemphasized that everyone is working with the scenario that the elections are coming upwithout however mentioning a specific date.

Referring to case of the television presenter-producer accused of tax evasion and money laundering, stressed that he has not received any money from the Development Act. He explained that he had applied under the previous SYRIZA development law, in which he was automatically accepted, as there was no pre-application check.

He clarified that the person in question did not take any of the next steps and did not receive any amount.

The minister noted that now the ND has changed the law and based on the current provisions the presenter – television producer would not be able to join.

He described as a science fiction scenario the reports that the prosecutor was the one who blocked the disbursement of 10 million for the presenter through the development law.
