The chambered mounds are truly imposing and exude an intense mysticism
A state of the dead that even the legendary Indiana Jones would like to explore, remains completely unknown and sadly abandoned. This is the Cenchrea Roman cemetery, as its scientific name is, which really leaves the few visitors who know its existence stunned, both with the mysterious catacombs that are scattered on the hill next to the sea, and with the beautiful Roman mosaic that adorns the nearby Roman Baths.
This specific cemetery was located during the excavations of 1962, carried out in Cenchrees by the professor of archeology Robert L. Scranton, of the University of Chicago, under the supervision of the American School of Classical Studies of Athens and the Archaeological Service. Since then, it had been declared as an archaeological site, but without being investigated more thoroughly and preserved, as a result of which it became a target for the predatory moods of antiquities.

The images are amazing and very rare and take you on a journey to the blue state of the dead of Corinth that until today at least few knew.
