Stoiximan Super League: The derby of the “eternal” and the battles of the “two-headed”

by

AEK-Asteras Tripoli

AEK has 14 consecutive games against Asteras Tripoli without defeat regardless of the organization and home. In this series of games he has nine wins and five draws. Three of the last four games between the two teams have ended in draws, but all three were in Arcadia.

Asteras Tripoli’s 14-match home and away unbeaten streak has started after the 2-0 defeat of the Arcadia team at home on October 1, 2017.

Four of AEK’s ten home wins were 2-0, while they still have three 2-1 wins. The Kitrinomavroi have a plurality in the scores, while on the contrary there is a repetition of both the two draws – all with 2-2, as well as the two victories of Asteras Tripoli which are with 0-1.

PAS Ioannina-PAOK

PAS Ioannina will host PAOK for the 28th time and the Thessaloniki team has managed to turn the balance in their favor in the last decade. With five wins in the last six games in Epirus, they now have 12 wins, compared to PAS Ioannina’s 9.

The most impressive result between the two teams came the day after Christmas 1976, with PAOK scoring their first away win over PAS with a score of 5-4. The nine goals in this match is their own record, while in 1981-82 and 1982-83 there were two consecutive matches with 0-0, which are also the only ones in which no goal was scored between PAS Ioannina and PAOK.

PAOK’s favorite score in victories is 2-0 with four replays, while 1-1 draws have occurred three times. On the other hand, PAS Ioannina does not have stability in its victories and they share with two appearances 2-1, 3-0 and 1-0.

Olympiacos-Panathinaikos

Olympiacos has hosted Panathinaikos 66 times for the First National/Stoiximan Super League and has won 30, while Panathinaikos has 13 wins. The two teams have left the field tied 23 times.

Olympiacos has not managed to win in the last five games against Panathinaikos, regardless of home, while the Greens have remained unbeaten in their last two visits to the Karaiskakis Stadium, after there was a goalless draw in the regular season match and for the Stoiximan Playoffs they prevailed by 2 -1.

The last victory of Olympiakos was the wide 4-1 in “Apostolos Nikolaidis” for the Stoiximan Playoffs of the 2020-21 season. The Red and Whites recorded three wins that season, two in the Stoiximan Playoffs and one in the regular season at Karaiskakis Stadium.

Olympiacos has maintained its unbeaten streak at home against Panathinaikos for ten consecutive matches on two occasions. He scored it for the first time since December 8, 1996 until March 4, 2007 when he lost 1-0. During this time his tally was 6 wins and 4 draws. This was repeated from 26 October 2014 until 3 October 2021 with seven wins and three draws in that time.

Panathinaikos, on the other hand, has managed to remain undefeated in five consecutive visits to the home of Olympiakos from November 8, 1987 until December 13, 1992 when they lost 1-0. In those five games he had two wins and three draws.
