“THE Georgina he didn’t show any problems,” Roulas testifies at the trial Pispirigou before the Mixed Jury Court a third doctor from the Karamandane Hospital of Patras where her 34-year-old mother had taken Georgina, saying that she had convulsions.

The pediatrician Athanasios Filias, curator A’ during the disputed period, told the court that he took charge of the little girl immediately after she was admitted to the Hospital, on April 8, 2021, and that – both at that stage and after the tests that were carried out – nothing alarming was found.

He also emphasized that the examinations that were carried out did not reveal the convulsions described by the mother.

Last Friday, the pediatrician who examined Georgina in the emergency room of the hospital testified that she was not convinced that the child had convulsions.

“The child was fine on Saturday afternoon”

Today, witness Mr Filias also said that arrangements were made for tests to be carried out and for Georgina to be seen by a neurologist and a cardiologist. As she said, the next day and since no pathological issue emerged from the tests that were done, they told the 34-year-old that the child can be discharged. However, because the mother said Georgina was vomiting, they did not leave the Hospital to monitor her condition.

“I didn’t see the vomit. I was vicar on Saturday and in the morning we passed by the room. The child was lying down and working on a tablet. I examined the little one, we did a belly check and I asked her if she wanted to eat. She said yes and we started feeding. In the afternoon, during the afternoon visit, there was no problem, the child had not complained and had eaten. We did the ultrasound and nothing was found, just a non-specific finding that is often seen in children who have a baby with abdominal pain. On Saturday afternoon the child was fine, he had eaten lightly. On Saturday night I was informed that the child woke up while sleeping and developed abdominal pain with a tendency to vomit, salivation and cough. He had an oxygen drop. He was put on oxygen and immediately went up to 98%. We gave her a round of inhalers and the cough went away. We gave antibiotics.” The witness pointed out that Georgina did not develop a fever more than expected since she was given antibiotics.

-President: How are convulsions recorded in a child?

Witness: At first, it often seems lazy. The neurological examination may not show anything. An EEG will have findings. And if it doesn’t show the first one, it will show what happens with the patient in hypnosis. cpk test shows findings, levels are rising.

Chairman: Would it appear in another examination?

Witness: A brain MRI may show findings.

At the start of the proceedings, the defendant’s lawyer stated that he was suing specific actors and presenters of television shows for leaks of information from the case file for which Mr. Kougias “showed” his client’s estranged husband as responsible. The court accepted the request of Alexis Kouyas in order to forward to the Prosecutor’s Office an excerpt of his statement-complaint, in order to investigate whether offenses have been committed.
