PARIS (Reuters) – BNP Paribas wishes to extend the mandate of its chairman Jean Lemierre for a period of three years and plans to do so to submit to its shareholders a resolution extending the age limit of the chairman of the board of directors by three years. .
In the notice of meeting published in the Bulletin of mandatory legal announcements in anticipation of its general meeting on May 16, the first bank in the euro zone provides for a resolution aimed at modifying the articles of association to raise the age limit to 75 years against Currently 72 years old, confirming information from the daily Les Echos.
Another resolution provides for the renewal of the mandate of Jean Lemierre, aged 72, for three years, that is to say until the general meeting of 2026.
Born in 1950, Jean Lemierre succeeded Baudouin Prot in 2014 as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
He was Director of the Treasury from 1995 to 2000 and President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) from 2000 to 2008.
He also sits on the board of directors of TotalEnergies.
