Faced with serious charges, the Larissa station master, who is responsible for the tragic accident in Tempi that has caused grief and mourning throughout Greece, will be brought before the prosecutor today.

The criminal prosecution against him for his criminal wrongs will concern to serial negligent homicide and bodily harm under the same criminal designationwhile the charge of disrupting traffic safety against him is the most serious (felony) that, based on a recent amendment to the Criminal Code (article 291), carries penalties from ten years to life in prison.

The criminally prosecuted station master, the fatal face of the tragedy, apologizing yesterday before a prosecutor to the preliminary investigation authorities, he confessed his tragic and disastrous mistakes which resulted in the unspeakable tragedy.

According to information from competent sources, the station master during his apology fully admitted that he had put the train on the wrong track, that he did not realize his mistake to correct it as he had time, and realized what he had done only when he learned about the tragic accident.

The investigations, which are in full progress under the supervision of the head of the Larissa Appeals Prosecutor’s Office, Stamatis Daskalopoulos, following the order of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Isidoros Dogiakos, are moving in every direction to clarify the causes that led to the unprecedented tragedy.

Due to the seriousness of the investigations, Mr. Daskalopoulos has since yesterday given an order and prosecutors are present, both at the police preliminary investigation stage and at the scene of the tragic accident, where the data is being collected to prepare an autopsy report of the fatal incident, a fact that is already carried out by a group of experienced Larissa Traffic officers.
