A Lufthansa plane that started its flight from Austin, Texas to Frankfurt fell into severe turbulence, injuring 7 passengers.
Lufthansa Airbus 330 flight 469, about 90 minutes after takeoff, began to shake in the air while flying at an altitude of 37,000 feet, with passengers in a state of shock.
“While the flight attendants were serving dinner, the plane took a dive,” a passenger told the Washington Post.

“These were the so-called “clear air turbulences”, which can occur without visible weather phenomena and prior warning. Flight attendants trained for these situations administered first aid to the injured passengers on board the aircraft“, revealed a Lufthansa representative.
The pilots of the aircraft, after this great adventure, made an emergency landing in Washington. At 21:12 (local time) the aircraft managed to land safely.
“Since the safety and well-being of passengers and crew members are the first priority at all times, the pilots in the cockpit decided to make an alternate emergency landing at Washington DC (IAD) after the aircraft flew through the turbulence“, added the spokesperson.
The seven injured were taken to hospitals.
