Minor incidents unfolded a while ago in the center of Thessaloniki, during the march of students for the tragedy in Tempi.

A group of hooded men threw torches and other objects towards the MAT squads that were guarding the march for the tragic accident in Tempi.

The march started from the square of Kamara and will move through the main streets of the city.

It is estimated that in the course there are 3,000 people, mainly students.

In the march, which includes members of Thessaloniki’s student associations as well as people from the anti-authoritarian space, the demonstrators demand there should be no cover-up of those responsible for the Tempe tragedy that shocked the whole of Greece.

The march has begun shortly after 7 in the afternoon from Kamara square and will move on central streets of the city.

It prevails in the ranks of the protesters lament but also anger for the wrongful loss of passengers in the fatal train collision outside Tempe late Tuesday night.

Silent protest for the tragedy of Tempe in Aristotelous

“We mourn our dead – We demand the truth.” With this slogan, the non-governmental organization “Solidarity for All” held a silent protest rally in Aristotelous Square for the Tempe tragedy.

A crowd of people gathered in the square sending a message for justice to be served in order to vindicate the souls of the dozens of victims.

“Solidarity for All” organized similar gatherings in Athens and other Greek cities.

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance of Thessaloniki had addressed a call to its members to participate in this gathering. Among the protestors were members of the official opposition.
