Meanwhile, yesterday the DNA examination of all the samples received so far by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations of the Hellenic Police was completed. of the 57 victims.

So far, 54 dead have been identified.

The investigation, however, has not stopped as new samples are expected to be sent, which will also be examined in forensic laboratories.

Regarding informing the relatives of the victims, the representative of EL.AS. Constantia Dimoglidou said yesterday: “Regarding the process of informing the relatives of the victims, which is ongoing, by the head of the identification team of the Greek Police and the specialist psychologists, the necessary time is given to the family of each victim as it is not a formal process but delicate manipulations are required.”

Research in the framework of the preliminary investigation was held yesterday at noon by the Traffic Department for the accident in Tempi, at the offices of the OSE in Larissa, with the aim of collecting all the necessary data needed by the police investigations to investigate the case of the railway accident.

According to information from APE-MPE, men of the Traffic Police in their investigation collected all the evidence deemed useful, such as documents and other documents related to the specific route, in order to draw conclusions about the causes of the tragedy and the attribution of responsibilities.

Earlier, following the Prime Minister’s order, the Minister of State Giorgos Gerapetritis announced the establishment of a Special Committee to investigate and highlight the systemic problems and malfunctions that led to the Tempe railway tragedy.
