Spyros was not a passenger, he was the driver of the commercial train, the 35-year-old’s father said Spyrou Voulgaris speaking to SKAI.

Mr. Voulgaris, who was informed yesterday that his son’s body had been identified, said that it was mistakenly said that Spyros Voulgaris was a passenger on the commercial train.

As Mr. Voulgaris said: “We were at Lianokladi for the three days of Clean Monday.

Spyros left last Friday from Athens on the commercial train for Thessaloniki, it was his regular route. He got off from Thessaloniki at Lianokladi as a passenger on the train on Saturday morning. At 11 a.m. on Tuesday he left on the train running the route from Athens to Thessaloniki and at 9 p.m. he had his normal commercial train route. He was the driver from Thessaloniki to Athens at 9 pm on Tuesday” said Mr. Voulgaris.

He explained that there was indeed a merchant train driver as a passenger in the passenger compartment, but it was not his son.
