The father of the 28-year-old Elpida, with a trembling voice on the TV station SKAI, emphasized that it was a miracle that his other two children were not on board the fatal train in Tempi.

In particular, Christos Houpas, said that the 28-year-old would go with a friend for Halloween in Athens and that he did not imagine that Elpida would have such an end.

Mr. Houpas emphasized that from pure luck his other two children were not found on the same fatal train: “They arranged for my other two boys – students as well and all three of them living together with my daughter in Thessaloniki – to take the same train to go to the co-capital together. But by a fortuitous event, as the two boys had taken Elpida’s laptop to be repaired, they postponed their trip. For one coincidence, the others did not go away either. I used to consider the train the surest means. I would leave my children at the dock, hug them and know they would arrive safely at their destination. For six years, the children have always traveled by train. All three children took the same route.”

“Disoriented and lost we are all in the family. The only problem I have, and we will try to solve it, is that the two boys will they open the door of their house in Thessaloniki and they will fall on their sister’s wardrobe without Elpida there… and I don’t want them to be alone. I will take my boys to Thessaloniki and we will drink the bitter glass as a family”, said a devastated Mr. Houpas
