One-time financial assistance amounting to 10,000 euros by bank deposit into the account of the closest, up to the second degree, living relative of each person who died in the Tempe train accident, announced the Stelios Hatziioannou Charitable Foundation.

“The tragic train collision in Tempe on March 1, 2023 is an event that shocked and continues to shock the whole of society. The Stelios Hatziioannou Charitable Foundation is constantly anxiously following the developments and wishes to practically stand by the families of the deceased. For this reason, corresponding to the action carried out by the foundation in 2018 with the tragedy in Mati, it is announcing today an immediate monetary donation of 10,000 Euros for the immediate needs of the next of kin of our fellow human beings who were unjustly lost in this particular accident.

In particular, a one-time financial aid amounting to 10,000 euros by bank deposit into the account of the nearest, up to the second degree, living relative of each deceased, following a written application accompanied by the appropriate supporting documents.

The application process will take time from Tuesday 7 March 23 until Tuesday 2 May 2023. Payments will be made by bank transfer to the bank account of the next of kin and will be completed by May 15, 2023 for those who have successfully completed the application.

Mr. Stelios Hatziioannou said: “The tragic train accident in Tempi filled us with unspeakable sadness. I would like to wish my condolences to the families of the deceased and a speedy recovery to the injured. I know very well that the loss of human life cannot be replaced by anything. However, we want to stand by the families of the deceased, offering immediate financial assistance to their relatives, as a minimum support in this difficult time.”
