Anger and indignation are caused by the new statements of the former Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aegialia Ambrosios, who – through his article – explains to the flock and to all of Greece that mourns the 57 dead in Tempi, that the tragedy came as God’s punishment for the three days of Carnival, “the feast of the devil”.

The man of God, Ambrosios, in his new article published on ekklisiaonline, says characteristically: “The question “Why, Oh my god;” after the tragedy of Tempe, it comes to the mind of most people. Why do such trials happen in our daily lives? Earthquakes, floods, fires, drownings, mass traffic accidents, and even by rail, as happened in Tempe;

We should, therefore, investigate whether these various extraordinary and catastrophic serious events, which have recently been occurring throughout our Planet (such as earthquakes, landslides, floods, fires, etc.), whether they express the wrath of God for today’s man’s apostasy from the path of virtue, from God’s embrace? As for the tragic incident up there in Tempi in Thessaly, does this event come as PUNISHMENT from God for the excessive disrespect of man and the excess of sin during the previous three days of the Carnival, which was so much celebrated not only in almost the whole of Greece, but also in various other regions of our Planet?

“Perhaps, then, this tragedy of the Tempes is an expression of the wrath of our Lord for this so solemn Carnival feast of the Devil?” the former Metropolitan wonders in his text!

According to Ambrose, the carnival is the feast of the devil, and he cites relevant reports to… strengthen his arguments. “And why do I ask about the Carnival, my Brothers? Because Carnival is the celebration of the Devil!!! And the multitude of people, who poured into the streets in their carnival costumes, in essence DID A LITANY TO THE DEVIL’S FESTIVAL! THEY WORSHIPED THE DEVIL HIMSELF, since during this three-day period car worship, immorality, obscenity, etc. dominated. Unofficially, in the form of gossip, the news circulates that many condoms from sexual satisfaction were even found on the streets of Patras!”, he emphasizes in his article.

“Greece is changing slowly, but steadily, into a Country of ATHEISTS and MAGICIANS!!! The Devil, therefore, dances in our days. The Devil celebrates his …conquests! And the Devil’s top feat is the THREE DAYS OF HALLOWEEN, the three days of Carnival! Could it be, then, that this tragedy of Tempe is an expression of the wrath of our Lord for this so solemn Carnival celebration of the Devil?”, adds the former Metropolitan of Kalavryton.
