The ambulance driver who took Alki’s injured friend said that according to his judgment and experience, he believes that the injury in question was done to “mark” the victim
With the testimony of EKAV rescuers in the Joint Jury, the trial continued for the murder of Alkis Kampanos and the injury of two of his friends by hooligan fans of PAOK, in the early hours of February 1, 2022, in the area of ​​Harilaou, in Thessaloniki.
These are the rescuers who, as an ambulance crew, took the second friend of Alkis Kampanos who had been injured in the left buttock by a sharp object during the murderous attack, but also rescuers from the EKAV who were at the place where Alkis Kampanos fell dead, as members of the crew of a second ambulance that also rushed to Gazi Street and finally received the body of the 19-year-old.
Describing the dramatic minutes from the moment they were alerted, the EKAV rescuers said in their statements that they had initially been given the wrong spot for the attack, since the initial information told them about Papanastasiou Street and that on the way they were informed of the exact location.
“The moose was in a pool of blood”
As the ambulance rescuer who rushed to Gazi Street said in his testimony, “when I arrived at the scene, I saw colleagues on the left treating the wounds of an injured person. On the other side we saw a wounded man in a large pool of blood, he was pale. A doctor informed us that he was not alive”, said in his testimony the EKAV rescuer who was at the place where Alkis was murdered.
“He was pulseless, had no vital signs”
For his part, the other member of the ambulance crew that arrived at Gazi Street, reported that when they arrived at the scene, Alkis was dead.
“We went there as the third ambulance. Alkis was there. He was pulseless, he had no vital signs,” he testified before the Joint Jury.
“I appreciate that the trauma was to leave a mark on him”
In his testimony, the ambulance driver who picked up Alki’s injured friend from a nearby spot where the murderous attack took place, said that according to his judgment and experience, he believes that the injury in question was done to “mark” the victim .
“It was a wound, it was a sign, to show you that I have you, that I made you a mark, that I made this mark on you. Prisoners make such signs,” he said, among other things, in his testimony.
As he said, when they approached the scene, it was not possible for the ambulance to turn from Plastira Street to Gazi Street. So they tried to turn from the above alley.
“When we went from Seferi to enter Gaza, we heard two children shouting “help, help! Here here!””
According to the witness, the two children had hidden in the school located near the place where the murderous attack took place. After, as the EKAV rescuer said, they helped the young people pass the bars and get out of it, they provided first aid to one of the two who had been injured.
According to the EMS rescuer, the blouse that had tied the victim at the scene played an important role in stopping the bleeding.
“The wound was 10-15 cm long”
“When we arrived at Seferi to enter Gaza we saw two children coming towards us supporting each other,” said the other member of the ambulance crew that took Alki’s injured friend.
As he said, the wound was deep, a 10-15 cm long bruise, while fatty tissue was visible due to the wound.
“The blouse she tied tightly helped stop the bleeding”
Continuing his testimony, the EMS rescuer described that the injured man’s pants were full of blood and that the blouse he tied to the wound helped to stop the bleeding.
Regarding the wound, he added that due to the part of the body where he had been hit, his life was not in danger. However, he emphasized that if the wound was in another part of the body then his life would be in danger.
Regarding the incident, Alki’s injured friend told the EKAV rescuers, according to the witness, that they had returned from a walk on the beach and sat at the entrance of the apartment building to pass the time. Then some approached them, asked them what group they were and attacked them.
“They didn’t tell us how many attacked them. I refrained from asking in order to keep the injured person calm,” added the EMS rescuer.
With the examination of the four witnesses, today’s proceedings were completed. The trial was adjourned for tomorrow and will continue with the testimony of other witnesses to the murder of Alki.
