At the same time, new audio documents are coming to light from the communications that the fatal station master had on the night of the tragedy
Just before the passenger train arrives in Larissa. The train driver, who dies instantly a few minutes later, calls the stationmaster. It is the first time we hear him speak and inform him that he is approaching, the station master is unprepared and the engineer mocks him:
Driver IC62: Larisa.
Larissa stationmaster: Yes.
Driver IC 62: Kalispera, 62 in Mezourlos (s.s.: near the entrance to Larissa).
Larissa Station Master: Guys, wait half a minute for the keys to turn and you will enter.
Key: Vasilis, a little, half a minute, a little, to go to 102 (s.s.: key).
Driver 62: Good thing you waited for us to come..
At 23.23 everything ends. Fifty-seven (57) people have lost their lives and 4 minutes after the accident the station master is still looking for the fatal train and the driver.
23:27
New Resources Warden: Please.
Larissa stationmaster: Eleni, call 62 a little.
Stationmaster New Resources: 62 listening to New Resources? (…) This is not good, you know.
Larissa Station Master: I know, yes, because the traction regulator took me, that there is a problem there and he says that someone took it, it has derailed…
Stationmaster of New Resources: The regulator is taking me, shut up, Vassilis.
Larissa stationmaster… that a train has derailed and caught fire.
Stationmaster of New Resources: Oh, my Virgin Mary. Wait…
Larissa stationmaster: Shut up, shut up. Come on, take it.
A minute later at 11:28 a phone call from the Fire Department. The station master looks surprised for the first time.
23:28
Larissa stationmaster: Yes.
Fire Department: Yes, hello. Do you know that? We have a train derailment near the PAOK monument.
Larissa Station Master: Amaan!
At 23.33 the police call the station master, 10 minutes have passed since the accident and he still insists that he does not know what has happened.
23:33
STATHMARCHIS LARISAS: Yes.
POLICE OFFICER: Yes, out of 100. Can you hear me?
CAPTAIN LARISSA: Yes, I hear you.
POLICE OFFICER: Do you have any idea what exactly happened?
CAPTAIN LARISSAS: I don’t know, whatever I tell you, I don’t know. Now I got a call from the Fire Department that there was a derailment. Now there was one train going up and one going down. Now which of the two, I don’t know anything either. They didn’t inform me either.
At midnight the phone rings again from the police. They inform him of casualties but he seems oblivious to reality.
