Pensioners received additional amounts from 0.1 euro to 50 euro – Activation of the compensation clause by the sponsoring company
In the context of the regular checks carried out by the EFKA services, a failure was detected regarding the amounts of the March pensions that were prepaid at the end of February to 572,000 pensioners. The total excess amount paid amounts to 15.5 million euros, i.e. an average of 26 euros per pensioner.
The vast majority of these pensioners received additional amounts from 0.1 euro to 50 euro.
By order of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, the activation is launched immediately of the indemnity clause provided for in the contract between EFKA and the contracting company. The contracting company is responsible for the provision of SLA and application software maintenance services as well as for the correct calculation of the amounts paid each month to the pensioners.
At the same time, the Minister asked the Administration of EFKA to proceed immediately with the procedures foreseen in order to be subject to disciplinary control possible omissions of employees of the Organization.
In addition, the excess amounts wrongly paid into the bank accounts of the above pensioners will be offset with the payment of their pension at the end of the year, when the small additional increase that will be given to them will be taken into account due to the fact that the GDP growth rate was higher than that foreseen in the budget.
Pensioners affected by the above failure can have personalized information from the end of next week through the posting of their monthly settlement notes on the EFKA website. In the notes will be explicitly stated the excess amount paid.
