The AUTH student was in the first carriage and is being treated in the ICU, in a critical condition
The Larissa General Hospital has one of the best Intensive Care units in the country and one of the most outstanding “uniques”, is the director of the ICU of the General Hospital Apostolos Komnos, according to the president of the Larissa Medical Association, Konstantinos Giannakopoulos.
20-year-old Gerasimos from Volos, the AUTH student who was in the first carriage on the night of the multi-fatal train accident in Tempi, has been hospitalized in the ICU of the hospital for 17 days.
According to Mr. Yiannopoulos, the intensivist doctor Apostolos Komnos and his entire scientific team have “fallen” on top of Gerasimos, who is considered heavy and he and his entire scientific team are fighting a huge battle to keep him alive .

From the head-on collision of the two trains in Tempi, Gerasimos was thrown from the window and for this reason, he escaped the explosion and the fire that followed. However, the impact with the ground caused serious head injuries, for which doctors have so far subjected him to two surgeries.
The 20-year-old is still in critical condition in the ICU, according to Mr. Giannakopoulos, and has a 50-50 chance of making it.
But as the days pass the odds are more and more in his favor.
At the University Hospital, as Mr. Giannakopoulos informs, two more injured people from Tempe, for two young people aged 36 and 21, are being treated.
One case has been extubated, and the second one with a brain injury gives optimistic messages.
