The Dodecanese Council of Appeals decided yesterday the extradition to the Swedish authorities of the 27-year-old Swede who was arrested with an international warrant in Kos, as he is accused of being involved in a case of trafficking half a kilo of cocaine and 15 kilos of methamphetamine.
The foreigner who has declared from the beginning that does not wish to be extradited to the Swedish authorities, has already filed an appeal against the decision of the Supreme Judicial Council, which will be examined by the Areo Pagoonce the procedures are completed.
Until then and until the decision of the Supreme Court of our country, the temporary detention of the Swede continues.
The arrest of the foreigner was carried out on February 22, 2023 in Kos, by police officers of the Kos Security Department, as he was pending European Arrest Warrant.
According to what has become known, in the afternoon hours of that day, the police officers carried out a targeted check on the 27-year-old Swede, at the moment he was trying to board a day boat bound for Turkey using a fake passport.
He was found to have a pending European arrest warrant from the Swedish authorities for drug and psychotropic substance trafficking.
In particular, according to information, the 27-year-old foreigner is allegedly involved in a case of half a kilo of cocaine and 15 kilos of methamphetamine for which, at the beginning of February 2023, the competent court of Gothenburg decided on his pre-trial detention and issued a relevant arrest warrant.
The foreigner was brought before Mr. Dodecanese Appeals Prosecutorwhere he stated that he does not wish to be extradited to Sweden, but also that he denies what is attributed to him.
The 27-year-old was temporarily detained, while yesterday his case was dealt with by the Dodecanese Council of Appeals, which finally decided to extradite the foreigner to the Swedish authorities.
