A 56-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon, Monday, March 20, in Gerakas, by police officers of the Investigation Department of the Attica Security Directorate, against whom two convictions were pending.
In particular, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the offenses of joint and continuous fraud and forgery and forgery, and to 39 months in prison for the offense of joint and serial fraud.
According to ELAS, the 56-year-old fugitive was pretending to unsuspecting people to be a lawyer or a notary public with acquaintances in the interbank system, in order to supply them with used cars at below-market prices, which he claimed came from bank foreclosures.
In this way he extorted from his victims money or other consideration as advances, without retribution. In total, he received at least 120,000 euros.
The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecutor.
