Where stopping, parking and traffic of vehicles will be gradually prohibited in Athens – On March 25, a ban on the movement of trucks with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons will apply – Traffic regulations in Thessaloniki as well March 24 and 25
Traffic regulations will apply in Athens today March 24 and tomorrow March 25 due to its conduct student and military parade, respectively, for the celebration of the National Anniversary of March 25.
In particular, according to the Police, stopping and parking will be gradually prohibited, as well as vehicle traffic, as follows:
Friday 24.03.2023:
• Prohibition of stopping & parking from 06:00 and gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic from 10:00 a.m until the end of the student parade on the avenues and streets below:
â—¦ L. Vas. Amalias, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams and on their perpendiculars up to the first parallel street.
â—¦ St. Vas Sofia, in the section between Sekeri Street and St. Amalia, in the traffic flow towards pl. Constitution.
â—¦ Bas. George I, along its entire length.
â—¦ El. Venizelou (University), along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.
â—¦ L. Vas. Olgas, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Syngrou Street, in the section between Ath. Diakos and Dionysios Areopagitou streets, in the traffic flow towards pl. Constitution.
• Prohibition of stopping & parking and gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic from 06:00 hours of 24/03/2023 until the end of the Military parade of 25/03/2023 on the streets below and on the right side of them up to the first parallel street:
â—¦ Achilles, in the section between Pl. Karaiskaki and Thermopylon street in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Lenorman, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Zucchini, along its entire length.
â—¦ Bourvachi, along its entire length.
â—¦ Petmeza, along its entire length.
â—¦ Kallirois, in the section between Vouliagmenis Street and Petmeza Street, in the traffic flow from Vouliagmenis Street to Frantzis.
â—¦ Karolou, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Marne, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Anth/gou St. Reguku, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.
• Prohibition of stopping & parking and gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic from 12:00 p.m on 03/24/2023 until 19:30 on 03/25/2023 on the unnamed road that leads from Lycabettus Ring Road to Lycabettus Hill.
B. Saturday 25/03/2023:
• Prohibition of stopping & parking and gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic from 06:00 hours to the end of the Military parade on the avenues and streets below and on their perpendiculars to the first parallel street:

â—¦ Bas. George II, along its entire length.

â—¦ Piraeus, in the section between Pl. Omonia and Ieras Odos in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Athena, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Ag. Konstantinou, along its entire length.

â—¦ October 28th (Patision), in the section between El. Venizelos (University) and Alexandra Street in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Th. Diligiannis, in the section between Pl. Karaiskakis and I. Metaxa Street in both (2) traffic streams.

â—¦ Philhellenic, along its entire length.
â—¦ Stadium, along its entire length.
â—¦ L. Sygrou, in the section between Am. Frantzis and Dionysiou Areopagitou in both (2) traffic streams.
â—¦ Academy, along its entire length.
â—¦ Ath. Diakou, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.
• Prohibition of stopping & parking and gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic from 06:00 hours until the end of the events at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Athens, as follows:
â—¦ Metropolis, along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.
â—¦ Aeolou, in the section between Ermou and Hadrianou streets, as well as on its perpendiculars up to the first parallel street.
â—¦ Ermou, in the section between Pl. Asomatos and Aiolou street.
Also, according to ELAS during the above periods of time modifications will be made to the Public Transport routes.
- Additionally, during the period of the March 25 celebration there will be a traffic ban on trucks with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons.
In this context, the Police appeals to drivers:
- to be informed about the weather and the condition of the road network,
- be especially careful when driving,
- to faithfully follow the provisions of the Road Traffic Code,
- drive at low speeds to better control their vehicle,
- in any case to comply with the instructions of the traffic police.
