With advanced 2.0L EcoBlue engines, four-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission
The new Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom are powered by Ford’s familiar, efficient and technologically advanced 2.0L EcoBlue diesel engine, which is now available in three options delivering maximum power of 136PS, 150PS or 170PS.
Drivers have four different driving profiles (Normal, Eco, Sport and Slippery) at their disposal to adjust vehicle characteristics – such as engine response and traction and stability control – for greater driving comfort and optimized performance. Versions with a factory hitch also offer the Tow/Haul program, while van models with a manual transmission and limited-slip differential additionally have Trail mode.
For the first time on the model, Ford offers the option of an 8-speed automatic transmission with a faster torque converter for less wear and tear, which also improves acceleration and fuel efficiency. With the 2.0L EcoBlue 136PS engine and only in conjunction with this particular automatic transmission, the Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom are available with an AWD system, which transfers torque to the front wheels and automatically to the rear when required to ensure the optimal grip and handling of the vehicle through a sophisticated control software.
Later in the year, orders will begin for the models with PHEV engines, as well as the all-new all-electric (BEV) versions.
