“What will my child be like when he grows up?” This is a question that concerns every parent.

According to Margot Machol Bisnow, an author who spoke to 70 parents whose children became very successful growing up, there are five traits that indicate a child will be successful, according to CNBC’s Margot Machol Bisnow.

1. They are persistent

Persistent kids don’t give up on a problem until they find a solution or learn something from it. They have fortitude and are not deterred by the reactions of others.

2. They are weird

Curious children ask many questions: Why is this so? Is that how it should be? Could it get any better? This kind of behavior is a sign of people who will make their own path in life.

3. They have a passion

Children need to learn to explore in ways that are meaningful to them, rather than trying to please their parents. It is the duty of parents to support their passion and trust them to make their own choices, as this teaches them to believe in their abilities.

4. They take initiative

Children who take initiative don’t need motivation from others. They will find a way to pursue their dream with whatever means they have.

5. They take risks

Children who take risks, like entrepreneurs, will risk everything to achieve what they consider important. This separates them from everyone else, who often find it difficult to let go of certainties. The role of parents should be to inspire them with self-confidence, so that they can face life without fear.
